So I decided to do “rfkill unblock all” and sure enough my laptop wireless was unblocked and the usb dongle was unblocked, so I tried to use my laptop wireless and it connect and disconnect 3 or 4 times, then went back to hardblock. No amount of messing around with the rfkill options works.
